Reading:
Students are expected to read 15-20 minutes nightly at home. Your child may bring home a new guided reading book or our shared reading anthology. Don't be surprised if your child brings home a book multiple times to reread. Research shows that rereading an instructional level text builds fluency and confidence. You can help your child by making sure a self selected book is a good fit book.
Math:
There will be math homework a few nights a weeks which reinforces what we are working on in class.
Homework is always due the following day. In addition, students are expected to practice their basic addition and subtraction facts 2-3 times a week.
